Key Features & Advantages

Why Sanoc’s 100BASE SFP transceivers help you plan replacement and qualification for your existing fiber network.

26 listed configurations

Compare 850 / 1310 / 1550 nm, 2–200 km, optical power and operating temperature on one page. A listing is not a stock or production-status commitment.

Device-scoped compatibility review

With the exact equipment model, port, software version, protocol and module part number, SANOC can assist with EEPROM coding and hardware validation. Results apply only to the validated equipment/software combination.

EEPROM coding cannot change port speed, PHY, electrical interface or protocol capability.

Sample and warranty terms

Complimentary samples may be requested for qualification; complimentary refers to the sample itself, while shipping and freight are confirmed separately. The warranty is one year; DOA/returns follow the quote, order or warranty policy.

Optical-budget selection

Link budget helps compare candidates. Usable reach still depends on fiber, connectors, splices, measured path loss and design margin.

Industrial-temperature options

The table includes -40 to 85°C options. Temperature range does not prove IEC 61850, IEEE C37.94 or other protocol/application compatibility; validate the actual equipment and system design.

Standard versions are rated for 0–70°C; listed -WT versions cover -40–85°C, while SJ1515-80ATXX-ET covers -20–85°C.

FQC and OQC Quality Control

Staged quality checks follow the applicable sampling plan after production and before shipment; inspection scope and records depend on the product and order.

DDM Diagnostics

DDM digital diagnostic monitoring supports equipment-side diagnostics and pre-deployment checks.

SFP and LC Interface Selection

Match the pluggable SFP form factor and LC connector to the host port and site cabling before installation.

What is a 100BASE SFP?

A 100BASE SFP is a pluggable optical transceiver for switches or media converters that explicitly support the required 100 Mbps optical interface. This page lists 26 configurations for comparison by part number, reach, wavelength, optical power and operating temperature. The “125/155 M” source-data field does not by itself prove that every part supports the same protocol.

The listed configurations span 850 / 1310 / 1550 nm and 2–200 km. Nominal reach is a selection starting point, not a field-distance guarantee; the equipment port, protocol, fiber, measured path loss and design margin still need .

How to select a 100BASE SFP

Send the exact equipment model, port, software version, protocol, required reach, installed-fiber details and candidate module part number. We can use the 26 listed configurations to narrow the options. Results apply only to the validated equipment/software combination. Complimentary qualification samples may be requested; shipping and freight are confirmed separately.

What equipment do you have, and how far does it need to go?

Three answers get you most of the way: which switch or media converter you are working with, how many kilometres this link has to cover, and whether the fiber is already in the ground or still to be pulled. For installed fiber we also need the spare core count and the connector type at each end. Those three answers decide which of the 26 rows are still in play; every other column only matters afterwards. Send us those and we can start.

Narrowing to two or three part numbers from the visible columns

Work the table below in this order: match Distance against your kilometre figure, use Wavelength / Cable to confirm both ends agree, then drop rows whose Temperature does not cover the environment. The Remark column restates minimum Output Power minus Sensitivity as a planning link-budget value. Use it to compare candidates; usable reach still depends on measured fiber, connector and splice loss plus design margin, so it is not a distance guarantee.

Site conditions and the record you keep

Indoor racks, outdoor cabinets and substations have different environmental conditions. Select commercial or -40 to 85°C rows only after checking the equipment specification and actual temperature; an outdoor cabinet may run hotter internally than the ambient reading. Temperature range does not establish protocol or application compatibility. Keep the part number, order reference and measured optical levels for later comparison.

Replacing an FX / LX / SX / ZX or OEM part?

  • SX / 850 nm short reach850 nm short-reach links normally run on multimode fiber; see the 850 nm rows below.
  • FX / LX (1310 nm, from 2 km)1310 nm covers 2 km through 60 km and is the usual wavelength for single mode routes. The 2 to 20 km band is commonly labelled 100BASE-LX in the market, and 40 km parts are sometimes listed as 100BASE-EX.
  • ZX / long reach (1550 nm DFB)1550 nm DFB covers 80 km to 200 km, including the 120 km and 200 km ultra-long-reach builds. Anything past 80 km is commonly labelled 100BASE-ZX, and spans beyond 120 km are sometimes called EZX.
  • OEM part number and device compatibilitySend the OEM part number, exact device model, port, software version and protocol. EEPROM coding and hardware validation can be evaluated; results apply only to the validated combination.

Wavelength and reach are in the table below. ZX and EZX are market labels for reach bands; IEEE 802.3 does not define either name. Usable distance depends on optical budget, measured path loss and design margin. The PHY and protocol for a specific part still require confirmation from source data and the target equipment.

Check the required line interface before reusing an SFP port

For an existing lower-speed optical connection, identify the host's required line interface and operating mode before choosing a replacement. The shared SFP package does not establish that a port supports the selected configuration. Keep the service requirement separate from the data-rate wording in a family description, and compare it with the exact module specification. For a maintenance replacement, record both endpoint settings so the trial preserves the original service rather than introducing a new configuration at the same time.

Inspect the duplex path before changing optical power

Trace the transmit-to-receive connection in both directions through the installed patch panels. Confirm the actual fiber type and connector requirements for the chosen configuration rather than relying on a familiar connector shape. If a previously working link loses service after patching, retain DDM readings and port errors before replacing optics. Check the changed connections first. A different reach class should not be used to mask a routing, cleanliness or configuration issue that has not yet been identified.

Use the exact optical limits for maintenance decisions

Keep the accepted part and temperature version with the receiving-module limits used during qualification. A similar nominal reach does not establish identical transmit or receive behavior across configurations. For a replacement trial, retain the same peer and route where possible, then compare optical readings and representative service traffic with the commissioning record. Store the accepted spare against that complete link requirement so future purchasing can distinguish a like-for-like replacement from a change needing fresh equipment and optical evaluation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about selection, qualification and purchasing.

How do I compare a module already in use?

Provide the original module part number, equipment model and fiber information, then check the interface, reach and operating temperature.

How is suitability for a specified device confirmed?

Provide the complete device model, port, software or firmware version, protocol and exact part number. Compatibility results apply only to the validated device, software, port and part-number combination.

How can equipment from another brand be evaluated?

SANOC can assist with EEPROM coding and hardware validation when you provide the exact equipment model, port, software version, protocol and module part number. Results apply only to the validated equipment and software combination; coding cannot change port speed, PHY, electrical interface or protocol capability.

Can I choose a module by reach alone?

Also check the equipment port, wavelength, connector and on-site fiber conditions.

How do standard, WT and ET temperature options differ?

Standard versions cover 0–70°C and listed -WT versions cover -40–85°C; SJ1515-80ATXX-ET covers -20–85°C. Select the part for the installation environment, and verify protocol compatibility separately.

What inspections are performed before shipment?

After production and before shipment, SANOC performs FQC and OQC inspections according to the product, lot size, and applicable sampling plan. OQC includes a pre-shipment visual inspection. Inspection items, sample quantities, and available quality documentation are confirmed based on the product and order requirements.

How do I confirm inspection scope and available records for my part?

FQC and OQC follow the lot size and applicable sampling plan; the currently confirmed main OQC item is visual inspection. Confirm optical and diagnostic inspection scope, sample quantities and available records against the selected part number and order requirements.

Does compliance with IEEE, SFF or MSA mean compatibility with every device?

No. These standards define basic interfaces, form factors, pin assignments and data formats. Actual compatibility must still be checked against the device, port, software or firmware version, protocol and module part number.

Is an established link enough to proceed directly with deployment?

Do one more check before deployment: transmit and receive optical power, DDM/DOM alarms, temperature, link loss and compatibility with the target platform.

How do I obtain the complete datasheet?

Request it by part number; if the part number is not yet known, first provide the equipment and link requirements.

How should a part number be selected from the product specification table?

Compare data rate, reach, wavelength or cable, interface, transmit power, receiver sensitivity and operating temperature. Do not infer values that are not listed; request the Datasheet for the exact part number when complete conditions are required.

How long is the warranty, and how are DOA or returns handled?

The warranty is 1 year. DOA, returns and after-sales terms follow the formal quotation, order terms or warranty policy.

Can I request a specific reach or wavelength?

Start with the listed 850 / 1310 / 1550 nm options and the reaches assigned to each part number. Send the equipment, fiber, reach, temperature and candidate part number for review; non-listed combinations require evaluation and confirmation of actual deliverables.

Can I request a sample before purchasing?

Complimentary samples are available for module recognition, link and diagnostic qualification in your own equipment environment. Complimentary refers to the sample itself; shipping arrangements and freight are confirmed separately by destination and project.

Does an existing compatibility result still apply after equipment or firmware changes?

Compatibility results apply only to the validated equipment and software combination. After a change, provide the exact equipment model, port, software version, protocol and module part number for a new suitability review.

Need help selecting or verifying compatibility?

Send us the part number or requirements, target equipment, software version, fiber type, reach, temperature and quantity, and we will confirm the available configuration and quote.
